While it is not possible to anticipate every circumstance, the Directors hereby set forth some of the more common situations they will and will not attempt to mediate or enforce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Association is&nbsp;not the&nbsp;<s><\/s><s><\/s>authority for dealing with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Outdoor fire nuisance or damage<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Property line disputes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Discharge of\u00a0firearms<u>[<a href=\"#_msocom_1\">D W1<\/a>]<\/u><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Animal\u00a0or insect pest control<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Utility issues (electricity, water*, cable TV)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Insurance (note especially that boats moored at common docks are not insured under any of the Association\u2019s policies)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Speeding**<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Noise pollution<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reckless watercraft operation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A<s><\/s>uthorities could be one or several of the following: Franklin County Administrator\/Building Inspector\/Clerk of Court\/Sheriff\/Board of Supervisors\/Animal Control Officer, State Police, VDOT, AEP, Corps of Engineers, DGIF, DEQ, FERC, Charter Communications, CF&amp;O, your insurance agent.<strong>&nbsp;<u>Please contact them yourself.<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>* We do try to keep our eye out for piping leaks or overflowing of the water tank. Please contact Smith Mountain Lake Water Company at 888 373 8787or David Weiler at 576-3209 if you notice such problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>** The posted speed limit of 25 mph should be observed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Association&nbsp;does&nbsp;deal with things covered in the Declarations of Restriction, and the Amendments thereto, the Bylaws and Amendments thereto, the Rules and Regulations, and the Policy Statements. This includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Soil erosion problems (in conjunction with Franklin County Building Inspectors Office)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Building approvals<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lawn<ins>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/ins>lot upkeep<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Trespass by outsiders on common areas and common docks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unauthorized use of common docks\u00a0*<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dues delinquencies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>*The Common Docks (slips and walkways) are for the use of Members and Guests visiting the Members only.
